Peter Kwater
born in Blackburn, Lancashire.
Having become seriously interested in music at the age of sixteen, Peter went on to study organ and piano at the Royal Northern College of Music. Following graduation he took up the position of organ scholar at Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral where he remained for two years.
On leaving Liverpool he established his own teaching practice combining this with solo performing and accompaniment work for which he is in great demand.
He is organist and choral director at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Rainhill, a choir he established 14 years ago which has toured to Rome, St Gallen - Switzerland and most recently Ravensburg - Germany.
In his day job, Peter works for Wigan music service (ITP) as an instrumental tutor and accompanist, working also with Wigan’s Junior and Youth Choirs.
As choral director and accompanist Peter has worked with many local northern choirs and has directed St Helens Choral Society since Easter of 2007, as well as accompanying Parbold Chamber Choir, a post he has held since 1999.
